This is the one leather here where the cut is not the story. A calf hide does not have a belly worth four times its flank, and pretending otherwise would be the exact thing this shop exists to argue against. What matters in calf is who tanned it and how it was finished, so that is what we name instead.
It is also where a lot of people start, and where a lot of collectors keep coming back to. There is no rule that says the good strap has to be the reptile one. A well-cut calf strap on a vintage watch is a completely correct answer, and it is the strap most likely to be on your wrist in five years.
two finishes, and what the names mean.
Pueblo. A vegetable-tanned calf with a dry, matte, brushed surface. It arrives looking almost raw and it darkens and smooths as you wear it, so a Pueblo strap at six months does not look like the one you bought. Pueblo is a named leather from a Tuscan tannery — which is the reason it can be named at all, and the reason it is worth naming.
Saffiano. A fine cross-hatch pressed into the surface and sealed. It resists marks and water far better than Pueblo and it will look the same in three years, which is either the point or the objection depending on what you want.
Worth being precise about: Saffiano is a finish, not an animal and not a tannery. Anyone can press that pattern into any hide. Pueblo is a specific leather with a specific maker. Two words that look equivalent on a product page and are not remotely the same kind of claim — which is a small version of the whole reason we name species and cuts.

Pueblo is unfinished on purpose, so it marks. That is the whole point of it, and trying to protect it defeats the object. Keep it dry, let it get scuffed, and it will look better for it. A light conditioner once a year is enough.
Saffiano is sealed and needs almost nothing. Wipe it. It will outlast the other five skins here without complaining once.
